Oxygen is an element indispensable for life on this planet. Our cells use oxygen to create energy for us to live. This chemical process creates what we call “free radicals”. These free radicals are bi-products that play a dual role in our lives – in that they can be both toxic in some cases and beneficial to us in other instances. A delicate balance of these free radicals needs to be maintained in order for us to maintain good mental and physical health.

Our bodies are equipped with mechanisms to counteract free radicals; we naturally produce what we call “anti-oxidants” aka “free radical scavengers”. The role of antioxidants is to neutralize the excess free radicals, maintaining a body that is healthy and vibrant.

When our body is overrun by free radicals, and cannot adequately destroy the access of free radicals, they become toxic and create what we call oxidative stress. Oxidative stress plays a major role in virtually all-degenerative diseases such as:

  • Cancer

  • Arthritis

  • Aging

  • Audio immune disorders

Clinical studies have been done on ozone and its ability to improve and protect our body’s antioxidant system’s ability to cope with free radicals and prevent oxidative stress. Studies have confirmed that medical grade ozone may promote an oxidative preconditioning, or adaptation to oxidative stress, preventing damage to the body. In addition ozone has been shown to improve B cell function, which is a key factor in overall immune system health.
