Our customers often ask us how they can best store their o3organics Ozone oil, so we thought we it would be a good idea to answer those frequently asked questions here as we have quite a bit to say about the subject.

  • How long does ozone oil stay good for? To answer that question, a brief lesson of how ozone is trapped in any given carrier oil should be explained. When ozone is infused into a carrier oil, it remains trapped in the oil as an Ozonide. What is an ozonide? In simple terms it is an organic form of a peroxide. The ozonides found in ozone oil are stabilized between the double bonds of the mono unsaturated fatty acids found in the carrier oils. The amazing thing about ozonides in ozone oil, is that they have the ability to remain strong and powerful healing agents for ten or more years if stored properly.

  • How should the oil be stored? Ozone oil should be kept out of the sun as much as possible, because the heat damages the potency of the oil causing it to go bad fast. Below we recommend 3 ways to store ozone oil to keep it strong and working to its full potential.

  • Room temperature: Your o3organic ozone oil (depending on which oil) will be good for up to 3 months if stored at room temperature.

  • Refrigerator: o3organic ozone oils that are stored in the refrigerator can last for several years, depending on the oil. This storage method is also nice because the oil or cream will be refreshing and cool when applied to your skin, which many of our customers like a lot.

  • Freezer: For much longer term, you can store your o3organics ozone oil in the freezer for 5-10 years.

Note: This data is based on our own experience with ozone over the last 7 years making and storing ozone oils and creams.
